NNPP North West Zonal Womens Leader, Aisha Ahmed Kaita
The North West Zonal Women’s Leader, New Nigerian Peoples Party, (NNPP), Aisha Ahmed Kaita, has resigned her position following the alleged exclusion of her supporters in the appointments so far announced by the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Kaita announced her decision at a news conference, on Tuesday in Kano, where she added that her resignation would not affect her membership and commitment to the party.
She lamented that since the formation of the NNPP government in Kano, her followers who had supported the electoral victory of the government, had been left out of the scheme of things.
She also alleged that the government had failed to consult her office since they came on board.
‘’Yesterday, I informed the national leader of NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of my intention to step down from my position as Northwest Zonal Women leader, he asked me if there was a problem with my action but I told him I am still a member of the party,” she added.
‘’I am a staunch supporter of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and I was together with him in APC, PDP and now NNPP.’’ She recalled.
Efforts to get a response from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa were not successful but an official of the government defended the governor and insisted that the governor had done well in rewarding party members who worked with him to electoral victory. (Daily Sun)
