Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Ebonyi central senatorial zone have declared that Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the 2023 governorship candidate, remains the leader of the party in the state.
The deputy governorship candidate of PDP in the 2023 election, senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, who disclosed this on Saturday while speaking with newsmen at his Oriuzor country home in Ezza North local government, after a meeting of Ebonyi central senatorial zone of the party.
Nwagu stated that the PDP despite losing the governorship election in the state still remain a formidable opposition Political party in Ebonyi state, saying that those who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, does it as a result of hunger.
“Since after the 2023 elections we have been meaning at the various chapters, wards, local government, and state levels. I want to tell Ebonyians, Nigerians, and the world at large that PDP still remain strong and focused,” he said.
Some of the stakeholders in the zone that attended the meeting include; the governorship aspirant of the party, Hon. Chris Osulor, state Assembly candidates, Chidiebere Egwu and Hon. Humphrey Nwuruku.
Others are former Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government, Dr. Hyginus Nwokwu, Deputy State Chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie, among other dignitaries.
Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone comprises Ezza south, Ezza North, lkwo, and Ishielu local government areas.
