Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Saturday, assured the people of Udu Local Government Area of the state that the Udu Harbour market would be completed within his first tenure in office.
Governor Oborevwori disclosed this during the wedding ceremony of Nancy and Aghogho which held at Church of God Mission (Potters House), Orhuwhorun Road, Udu Local Government Area.
He reiterated that his administration would do everything possible to ensure that the market was delivered in his first tenure in office so that women in the area could tap from the economic potentials of the market to better their lives.
The governor, also, reiterated his administration's resolve to complete all ongoing projects initiated by the previous administration in the state, stressing that no part of the state would be left out in the implementation of his MORE Agenda for Deltans.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Church for the gift of a copy each of the holy Bible to his wife and himself, describing the gesture as the best because. According to him, the word of God in the Bible has sustained him and his family.
While congratulating the couple Mr. and Mrs. Aghogho for their successful marriage, Governor Oborevwori implored them to continue to love each other and be prayerfully committed to their marriage.
"The Udu market will be completed in my first tenure by the grace of God because the market is very key to women in this area.
"The word of God in this Holy Bible has sustained me and l believe that God has been with us as a state," the governor said.
Earlier in his sermon, the National Presbyter of Orhuwhorun Province, Revd. Michael Ogbeh, said marriage was a covenant instituted by God, adding that it was far from partnership.
Revd. Ogbeh said the covenant as it relates to the marriage institution was both horizontal and vertical.
According to the cleric, God instituted marriage as a covenant for companionship, procreation and for redemption, adding that God was a witness in the marriage covenant.
The marriage ceremony between Nancy and Aghogho was conducted by the Zonal Co-ordinator, Warri Zone 3 of Church of God Mission, Udu province, Revd. Prof. Jonathan Idialu who presided over the ceremony.
Highlight of the ceremony which was attended by the wife of the state governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori among other top government functionaries, was the signing of the marriage register by the couple after they were pronounced husband and wife by Revd. Prof. Idialu.
