Flykite Productions, organisers of GOtv Boxing Night, announced on Friday that the 31st edition of the premier boxing event will hold on May 1 in Lagos.

According to a statement by the company the event is scheduled for the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium.

It added that the fight night would feature seven national bouts.

It also stated that the biggest fight on the night would be the 10-round West African Boxing Union (WABU) Light Welterweight title clash.

The cracking pair of Segun War Adeyemi and Adeyemi Spirit Adekanla will face off in the category.

Also scheduled for the night is a National Welterweight challenge between Raheem Baddo Animashaun and Samuel Apata Roro Moses.

It also stated that the fight night would also feature the National Flyweight champion, Sifon ˜Best Iwatt, who would take on Sikiru Ogunyaju in a national challenge bout.

The Super Featherweight category of the challenge will be between Sikiru Omo Iya Eleja Shogbesan and Arabambi Power Ojo,

Similarly, Emmanuel Abimbola will challenge Azeez Ayobami in the National Lightweight category.

The statement added that Afikun Gbenga will square up against Adewale Oladeji in a Super Welterweight challenge fight.

Hammed ˜Ese Ganiyu will also confront Yusuf Ogunbumi in the Light Welterweight category, the organisers stated. (NAN)
