The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people at all times.

The State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who stated this in Ilorin while presenting a new modern boat and ten life jackets to the Kwara State Fire Service said the equipment would boost its emergency response efforts.

The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Environment, Mallam Shehu Ndanusa Usman, stated that with its deployment, firefighters had gain a versatile tool that promises to revolutionize their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, particularly those involving water-based incidents.

He acknowledged the efforts of the State Commissioner for Works, Abdulqowiy Olododo, and applauded the firefighters for their resilience adding that the equipment marks a milestone moment in the service's quest to enhance rescue operations and better serve the community in times of crisis.

“The addition of this boat represents a significant boon for the Kwara State Fire Service's rescue operations”, he stated.

He underscored how the boat's capabilities will facilitate timely interventions, enabling responders to reach remote or inaccessible areas with unprecedented speed and efficiency.

The Governor noted that the boat equip responders with the means to access and assist individuals in distress across a variety of challenging environments from flood rescues to maritime accidents.

Receiving the boat, the Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince John Falade, expressed gratitude to Governor Abdulrazaq for the donation and emphasized the transformative impact it would have on its operations.

Prince Falade added that the gesture underscores proactive approach to emergency preparedness and demonstrates the commitment of all involved parties to prioritize the welfare of the community.
