A Ruling House in Ifon, Orolu Local Government of Osun State, on Monday dragged Governor Ademola Adeleke to the state High Court for alleged violation of court order in the Olufon stool.

Adeleke was accused of violating the order of the court that restrained the parties jostling for Olufon stool from occupying the seat pending the determination of the suit before the court.

Earlier, the Morohunfolu ruling house through Prince Sulaiman Akinyooye, Peter Akinyooye, and others had dragged Prince Wahab Oyegbile of Olaojo ruling house to the court after he was selected to emerge as the new Olufon.

Ruling on the suit instituted by Morohunfolu ruling house through Prince Peter Akinyooye and others, Justice Ayo Oyebiyi of the state high court, on November 9th, 2022, ordered that nobody including all the parties involved and the Osun state governor should do anything in respect of the vacant Olufon stool pending the determination of the initial suit.

However, Governor Adeleke appointed and installed Prince Peter Akinyooye, one of the plaintiffs who secured the restraining order as the new Olufon of Ifon on February 15th, 2024. (Daily Sun)
