There was drama in the Senate on Tuesday as the Upper Chamber’s deliberation of the allegation of budget padding made by Senator Abdul Ningi (PDP Bauchi) quickly took a wild turn.

As lawmakers took turns in their contributions, with some outrightly condemning the media briefing by Senator Ningi where the allegations were made, Senator Jarigbe Jarigbe, on his part accused said that the lawmakers were culpable in the budget padding scandal.

He accused the leadership of the Red Chamber of marginalization in the allocation of constituency projects, insisting that while “some so-called Senior Senators got N500 million, I got N 75 million.” (Daily Independent)
