The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has hailed the suspension of the traditional ruler of Neni, Igwe Damian Ezeani in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The Monarch had during the Yuletide season, conferred a chieftaincy title on the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah.

This coming on the heels of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state asking the governor to reinstate the embattled monarch, faulting and describing the suspension as an attempt to cow the traditional institutions and drag it into the murky waters of Anambra politics.

Though Ubah earlier in his reaction said Soludo was simply playing politics, saying that the governor was frustrated about his (Ubah’s) growing political profile, the Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, justified the action.

He said: "Ifeanyi Ubah as a matter of fact does not deserve to be honoured with Chieftaincy title by any sensible traditional ruler.

“A man like Ubah who had the effrontery to deceive and disappointed the church should not be honoured in anyway howsoever,”

Stating this in a statement made available to journalists, Obigwesaid that virtually all Ubah’s business associates had ugly stories to tell about the APC Senator.

The statement partly read, “The painful truth I will force down the throat of some people in the drowning camp of Ifeanyi Ubah that are politicising the suspension of Damian Ezeani, the traditional ruler of Neni is that ifeanyi Ubah does not deserve to be honoured with a traditional title.

“Let’s not forget that this Ifeanyi Ubah we are talking of is someone his own brother Cosmas Mmaduka told the whole world that his worst mistake in life is helping him secure loan from bank.

“That transaction ended up being a fraudulent one and Cosmas Mmaduka felt betrayed by someone he tried to help as a brother.

“It is not only Cosmas Mmaduka that is telling this same story. Chief Gabriel Chukwuma that is popularly known as Gabros is telling whomever that cares to listen that his business dealings with this same Ifeanyi Ubah ended in him also feeling betrayed.

“Many people that did business with Ifeanyi Ubah will advise you not to make the mistake they made.”

“The Church is telling the same story about Ifeanyi Ubah. Nnewi Catholic diocese will tell you that the Ifeanyi Ubah they know is not a man of honour that he made a promise of building Cathedral for them, destroyed the one they have and failed to fulfil his promise.

“But he ended up abandoning the project. As we speak, Nnewi Catholic diocese parishioners are now the ones executing the Cathedral project after being disappointed by Ifeanyi Ubah.

“Such a dishonourable character does not deserve to be honoured with a Chieftaincy title by any sensible and reasonable traditional ruler.”
