A chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Ojimba Chikaodiri, has lauded Governor Francis Nwifuru for his quick intervention in rescuing his life and that of his family from being assassinated.

Ojimba disclosed this on Friday while narrating the ordeal on how himself and his family members were saved from the hands of men of the underworld.

The LP bigwig and family were attacked by gunmen on December 24, 2023, along Ogbaga road on his way to his village, Echiaba, in Ebonyi LocalGovernment Area of the state, for Christmas celebration.

He also commended the Commissioner of Police for sending his men that over powered the gunmen and saved him and his family.

“May I sincerely, on behalf of my family, appreciate the Nigerian securityforces, especially Ebonyi State Police Command, for their prompt intervention during a gruesome attack on my life and immediate family on 24th of December 2023, by gun men armed to the teeth, at my country home in Ebonyi LGA.

“I also want to thank His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, for his prompt intervention and assurances of full security.

“To the police men attached to me, thank you for being the visible protector during the attack that lasted for about an hour. Iwon’t take it for granted.

“To my friends, home and abroad, thank you for your calls and passionate prayers.

It was a gruesome attempt on my life and my dear family

“That I, my wife and children alive today is to the glory of God,” Chikaodiri.
