Ex-President Buhari
By ABDULLAHI MOHAMMED
An activist, Mr Musa Guri, has cautioned a famous Hausa singer, Dauda Rarara, over unguarded utterances against former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Guri, who was also the former Chairman, Coalition of Buhari Support Groups, Jigawa Chapter, gave the advice on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.
Rarara was allegedly being quoted publicly not once as blaming Buhari-led administration for ruining the country before handing it over to President Bola Tinubu.
The activist wondered how the singer who released numerous songs in honour of Buhari before the 2023 general elections reduced himself so low before the general public.
Guri described the comments “as a mere figment of the imagination of the singer whose rise to stardom was partly because of the support he showed the former president.
“As human, there are certain areas where the former president got it all wrong but to say that he handed over a ruined country is to say the least very disappointing and herby condemned,” he added.
The activist said that it was true that certain policies approved by the Buhari led-administration had nearly caused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 general elections to loss its support.
“Most of these policies were drafted by his cabals in a carefully scripted manner that convinced the former president that the move was aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s democratic principles.’’
Guri said that the coalition also kicked against such move. (NAN)
