The South East Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated Rt. Hon. S. K. E. Ude-Okoye, the former National Youth Leader of the National Working Committee of the PDP, to replace Senator Sam Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the party.
The nomination was made at the Executive Committee Meeting of PDP, South East Zone, hosted by the leader of the party in the South East, Barr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State.
Speaking at Banquet Hall of the Lion Building, Government House, Enugu, the National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South East Zone, Mr. Ali Odefa, said the resolution was reached at the meeting held on Friday (October 20) in order to allow Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the PDP Governorship Candidate in Imo State, to concentrate on his electioneering campaigns for the upcoming Imo State governorship election billed for November 11, 2023.
Part of the resolution at the meeting, according to Odefa, was that the party would give Senator Anyanwu maximum support in order to emerge victorious at the polls, while urging all members of the PDP in Imo State to do whatever they could within the ambit of the law to ensure the PDP emerged victorious at the Imo governorship polls.
Odefa said the resolution of the South East Zone of the party would be communicated in writing to the Central Working Committee of the party for ratification on behalf of the National Executive Committee of the PDP in line with the constitution of the party.
Present at the meeting were the host and leader of the party in the South East, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State, his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, former governor of Abia State, Senator Sam Egwu, former National Chairman and former Governor of Enugu State,Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo, former governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and other members of the South East Zonal Executive Committee of the PDP.
