NAPASW Pioneer National President, Ukueku
•Makes case for good ministerial slots for Igbos
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Pioneer National President of the National Association of Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Students Worldwide (NAPASW), Comr. Lucky O.O. Ukueku, has predicted that Nigeria would achieve greatness under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ukueku in a statement made available to News Express based his prediction on Tinubu’s initial steps, especially his “recruiting qualified hands who can deliver without any form of compromise.”
Ukueku said: “With his performances within the short period of time he has been in office, I have confidence in him that he can deliver as he promised in his campaign speeches.
“I still want to use this medium to appreciate the President for signing students loan bill into law, which gives those from poor background the privilege of also being educated. And also his assurance of youths empowerment programme which clearly indicates that the President is interested in developing and grooming the youths who are the future leaders of this country.
“On this score, on behalf of all concerned students of the Niger Delta and Nigerian Youths at large, I want to sincerely say we are grateful to His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he has done so far, and his commitment to seeing Nigeria great again,” he added.
Ukueku urged the President to continue with what he has started, saying that his achievements were loud and commendable, and therefore not giving any room for corruption like the previous administrations which were flawed with embezzlement of public funds and corruption in almost all public offices.
He said that NAPASW was also in support of the fact that his government is fishing out the bad eggs and bringing them to justice.
He added: “Sir, your remaining appointment should be based on credibility, and visionary leaders who are interested in piloting the affairs of the Nation towards the right direction, anyone with questionable character and charges of corruption by the EFCC or ICPC should not be considered for appointment into your cabinet as they would only continue with their corrupt practices to further destabilize the good works you have already started.
“And in your next appointment please, consider the Igbos for a better ministerial position, in equity and fairness.
“And also consider the fact that there are so many pressure groups who also sacrificed to see you emerge victorious, some of these groups collaborated under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Batati, the founding father and the National Leader of APC Supporters Center Worldwide who he recommended for consideration for appointment.”
Ukueku also commended the President for appointing Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser (NSA), describing him as the right man for the job.
