Tinubu
Elder Statesman and Chairman, Igbo Lawyers Association (ILA), Chief Chuks Muoma, SAN, has expressed fear that a cabal from Northern Nigeria will try to control Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s administration, after his inauguration on May 29, as President of the country.
Muoma said he would have preferred a younger Tinubu on the seat of power in Aso Rock, in view of the herculean task before him, noting that presidents of large countries, such as Nigeria, require to be always awake 24 hours of the day in governance.
“I don’t know what he can achieve at his age with the attendant illnesses and frailty associated with his present state. For me, I would have preferred a younger person, in his 60s. It is a herculean task he is getting into and the question is: Can he dare the North?
“It is true, Yoruba are asking for restructuring of the country, can he brace up to do it?”, the ILA leader queried but was of the opinion that since Tinubu was a Moslem alongside his deputy, Alhaji Shettima, he may do well.
“Let’s watch. He wants to be there, and we don’t know what he’s going to achieve, for now,” Muoma declared. (Daily Sun: Text, excluding headline)
