The re-elected Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has said his administration would recruit 20,000 youths into the state-owned security outfit, to curb banditry and other crimes.

He said Bauchi State Vigilante & Youth Empowerment Agency, which was modelled after ‘Amotekun’ in the Southwest, would stabilise the security infrastructure existing at the local government level.

Mohammed spoke while delivering his inaugural speech after he and his deputy, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, were administered oaths of office and allegiance by the Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar.
