The Director-General, Center for Management Development (CMD), Bitrus Danharbi Chinoko, says the centre was determined to promote its staff development locally and internationally so as to deliver on the mandate of the agency.
Chinoko made the observation on Friday, May 19, 2023, during the completion of the two weeks training for 41 trainers of the Basic Management Trainers Development Workshop (BASIC MANDEV) held at the Nigeria Capital Market Institute (NCMI) in Abuja.
He assured that the centre has enormous power, constitutionally, to regulate the activities of trainings and workshops being organised by both public and private organisations in the country.
He appealed to the political class to exhaust the opportunity provided by the CMD to ensure the rules guiding the execution of constituency projects across the country was maintained, particularly as it affects training.
"The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) had recommended the CMD as the sole trainer of trainers recognised by the constitution of the country," he said.
The Director-General advised Nigerians to explore alternative avenues to participate in other programs being carried out by the centre, saying the BASIC MANDEV program was just the starting point.
He also promised to continue to partner with the participants through the agecies wide range of facilities located across the country, to advance and regulate the activities of trainings across Nigeria.
The Director General was represented by CMD’s Deputy Director, (Legal), Mr Uche Uwali, and Head of Accreditation, Mr Francis Binuyo.
One of the highlights of the programme was the presentation of certificates to the 41 participants by the coordinators.
