The Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign is mourning the untimely death of an Obidient, Mrs Elizabeth Owie, who was shot by suspected thugs at her polling unit in Ogheghe Health Center, Ward 9, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Edo State, during the February 25, 2023 Presidential election.

It described the death of Mrs. Owie, a supporter of Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, as the handiwork of agents of darkness who are resisting the push for a better Nigeria, adding that she will be remembered for her contributions towards making a greater Nigeria.

The press release Issued on Wednesday and signed by Diran Onifade, Head, Obi-Datti Media, reads in part: “We hereby express our heartfelt sympathy to her family members and friends.

“The Obidient family has expressed the desire to participate in the service of songs and candle night as a mark of last respect for late Mrs Owie who will be buried on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her residence in Benin, Edo State.”

It further called on the Nigeria Police to arrest and prosecute the killers of Mrs Owie and ensure that justice is served.
