A group under the aegis of Cultural Credibility Development Initiative (CCDI) has described the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Prof Nnenna Oti, as a quintessential leader, a role model and a virtuous woman.

This is coming on the heels of the role she played during the recently concluded governorship election in Abia State, when she refused to play to the gallery, but announced the result as was collated.

The group which include ace singer, Ada Mazi Onyeka Onwenu (Nne Igbo Nine), Chika Ibeneme. Barr Nneka Chris Asoluka, Dr Marcel Mbamalu, Lady (Dr.) Ifeyinwa A. Ezenwa, Maureen Chigbo, Iyom Chizoba Nwana, Felix Iwuagwu, Adiya Uri Ngozichukwuka, among others, said that Prof. Oti delivered on credible elections outcome, displayed unrivalled individual competence and heroine gender assertiveness against entrenched male chauvinism that dots election rigging in Nigeria’s political history.

The group, in a statement made available toNews Express, said: “Whereas some university Vice Chancellors are busy defending themselves over election malfeasance, inconclusive elections and litigations over disputed declared elections results, Prof Nnenna Oti’s two States service stopovers (Anambra and Abia States) are witnessing exuberant celebrations with a defeated sitting State Governor counseling against litigation of the election results as declared by Prof Nnenna Oti.

“We wholeheartedly wish to honour her selfless service to fatherland and or motherland in this inauspicious time's when honour and decency are scarce in public life and service rendition to humanity.

“Madam VC, Prof Nnenna Oti, has pointed a perfect way to gender esteem, actualization and a good example of girl child process upbringing and modelling of life pattern in righteousness and truthfulness.

“Prof Nnenna Oti as Vice Chancellor of FUTO was appointed to serve as Scope/Returning Officer in the Anambra Presidential and National Assembly election on 25/02/2023 and Gubernatorial/State Houses of Assembly elections in Abia state on 18/03/2023 and in both assignments, she discharged herself creditably well to the admiration of the global community.

“Both states she was deployed to serve experienced peace, orderliness and acceptance of election results because as leader of the election process, she refused to compromise on standards, nor accept undue gratifications, nor stooped to change election figures for bribery but insisted on truth, facts and verifiable data and process integrity,” the statement added..
