As the collation of the Saturday governorship election in Kaduna State begins, the major opposition, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is in early lead.

The Collation, which is taking place at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Kaduna, commenced around 2:20pm.

As at 3:30pm, results had been received from seven local government areas of Kaura, Giwa, Sanga, Kajuru, Makarfi, Ikara and Jaba.

While the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won in Giwa and Ikara, the PDP has won in five LGAs of Kaura, Sanga, Kajuru, Jaba and Makarfi.

The oppositeion PDP has so far polled a total of 149,577 votes while the ruling APC has so far scored 121,430 votes

While results are being awaited from 16 local government areas, the PDP is leading with 28,147 votes.
