LP Presidential Candidate Peter Obi
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
The Co-ordinator of Nigeria Ethnic Forum (NEF) and member, Peter Obi Campaign Council (PCC), in the South-South of Nigeria, High Chief Uchenna Okokoba, has charged members of the Obidient Movement to accommodate other political parties with good intentions, saying that apart from Labour Party (LP), other political parties voted for Peter Obi on February 25.
Okokoba who gave the charge in a statement he tagged “A Timely Advice,” said that everyone wants to be a sort of hero and but afraid of internal resistance.
He described the mantra, “Vote Labour all the way!” as one that will reduce the momentum of support for Obi, describing whoever that came up with the mantra is an enemy.
The NEF Coordinator called for a total embrace of personalities and candidates from other political parties who were trustworthy. For example, he noted that Aisha Yesufu, a strong supporter of ObiDatti Movement, kicked against voting Enugu State Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate but chose the APGA candidate instead, giving credibility as the reason, not party. Okokoba added: “In the just concluded Presidential Election, most people that voted the Labour Party are from other parties.
“Saying Vote Labour all the Way will and might reduce the respect of the party because some bad eggs might come up to hide under the umbrella of Labour Party. Please we should be wise and reasonable enough. This is my humble piece of advice to all members of Obidient family.”
“The task we have now is how to make our country better for all of us,” he added.
