The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Abia state for the March 18 gubernatorial poll, Professor Gregory Ibe has commended the women of Abia state for their contributions to the development and progress of Nigeria over the past years, particularly since independence. Ibe made the remarkin commemoration of the 2023 International Women Day celebration across the globe.

He recalls that women of Abia state have played outstanding roles in diverse field of endeavours like politics, sports, economy, trade and commerce, fashion and tourism towards the development of Nigeria. Ibe who prayed for the women who he called, “Our mothers, daughters and wives”, expressed a brighter future for them and urged all eligible female voters in the state to rally behind him and cast their votes for him. Speaking through the spokesman of his campaign organisation, Hon John Nwokocha, yesterday, Ibe pledges a gender-inclusive government if elected as governor of Abia state. He assured that a new Abia would carry the women and youths a long, adding he would ensure the lives of women and girl-child is better under his administration if elected.

On his reaffirmation as APGA authentic candidate by the Supreme Court in Abuja on Thursday, Ibe said he dedicated the victory to God and all Abians.
