INECs BVAS
Ahead of the Governorship election, the Zamfara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that the Bimodal voter accreditation system BVAS must be used during the accreditation of voters, says they will not accept any results without the use of Bvas in the state.
Addressing newsmen today in Gusau, the publicity Secretary of the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the next election in Zamfara state, Faruk Ahmed Shatiman Rijiya, said they would not accept manual accreditation in the state.
“Our party will not accept manual accreditation of voters, we insisted that Bvas must be used, we have officially notified state INEC of our decision and not going back, It remains for INEC to take action.”
According to him, any results submitted to INEC without using BVAS during the governorship and House of Assembly elections will not be accepted.
“We assigned our members who will monitor the gubernatorial election on how it will be conducted in all polling units across the 14 local government areas in the state”. He said
“I urged the state’s Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to ensure a hitch-free Saturday governorship election exercise. “
He called on PDP supporters in the state to remain law abiding and avoid any acts of causing havoc during and after the gubernatorial election in the state. (Nigerian Tribune)
