The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, said it has uncovered plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of stockpiling AK-47 rifles for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The opposition party alleged that the information at its disposal revealed that the plan is to use the newly formed two security outfits to perfect their act.

The Director-General of PDP Campaign Council, Chief Austin lgwe Edeze, stated this while briefing newsmen on Sunday in Abakiliki.

Edeze called on the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) to without further delay, cancelled the February 25 elections in the state describing the entire process as a sham.

“I call on INEC to order a re-run in Ebonyi State. The entire process was a sham and full of fraud. The entire process was marred of irregularities especially in lzzi my local government.

“The report from the polling units is nothing to write home about. APC, the ruling party in Ebonyi State has perfected plans to use AK-47 riffles across the 171 Electoral wards to win the gubernatorial election at all cost,” Edeze said.

He called on the security agencies in the state to swing into action ensuring that they mop up all the guns the APC-led government is stockpiling to cause mayhem.
