. . . Calls for cancellation of election results in some LGAs

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Chapter, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what it described as the credible conduct of the last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

Chairman of the Party in the State, Chief Stanley Emegha, made the commendation while briefing newsmen on the elections in his Office in Abakaliki, Monday.

He particularly appreciated INEC for the optimal functioning of the BVAS machine which he noted has further improved the credibility of Nigeria elections.

“I must still say it and commend the INEC people for their conduct, INEC has proven that they are determined in this particular point in time to get it right, they are determined to make sure that the confidence that Nigerians reposed in them that they don't disappoint them,” he said.

He however decried the alleged disruption of voting by opposition elements in Afikpo North, Ivo, Ezza North and Onicha local government areas of the state.

“I challenge them that if they do proper forensic analysis, they will discover these things that we are saying,” he said.

The APC Chairman also called on INEC to cancel all elections in the affected local government areas in order to address the misdemeanor and forestall reoccurrence in future elections.

“When they withdrew my orderly, I still saw some VIPs going with very many number of security personnel and what were they using those security men attached to them to do, just to intimidate the members of our party in their various voting points,” he lamented.

The APC Chairman also accused the Commissioner of Police, Olaleye Sunday, of conniving with the opposition elements to commit irregularities in the just concluded elections.
