PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has broken into the South-West stronghold of his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to win Osun State.
Out of the 1,954,800 registered voters in the state, 759,362 were accredited for the February 25 election by the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC).
The INEC state collation officer for the presidential election, Folashade Ogunsola, announced on Sunday evening that Atiku scored 354,366 votes while Bola Tinubu scored 343,945 out of 756,744 total votes cast in the state.
The candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, got 23,283 votes while Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 713 votes.
Out of 733,203 total valid votes, there were 23,541 rejected votes.
PDP won and the three Senate and the nine House of Representatives seats in Osun.
