The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), has issued a three days removal notice to all owners of makeshift structures, shanties, kiosks, fence, extensions, graves or anything whatsoever that have encroached the right of way and constitutes an obstruction to the construction of Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta street in Oshimili South Local Government Area.
The head of environment department, Moses Ejite, who led his team to the points of the issuance of removal notices on Thursday, stated that the order became necessary for the immediate construction of the road.
According to Ejite, the stretch of road has been taken over by makeshift structures, shanties, and other illegal occupiers, which are going to hamper road construction work in the area.
He stated that on the expiration of the removal notice, officials of the agency would remove all makeshift structures and shanties in the road to enhance the construction work.
While addressing the occupants of the area before pasting the notices, Ejite implored them to heed the state government's removal order as anyone who refused the order at the expiration of the notices would be made to face the law. (Delta State News Bulletin)
