injured obidient being attacked in aguda market, lagos
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Deputy governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Lagos for the 2023 election, Princess Islamiat Abiodun Oyefusi, came close to tears as she narrated their ordeal when she led a group of party members and Obidients (supporters of LP presidential candidate Peter Obi) to campaign in Aguda market yesterday, Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Some thugs allegedly working for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had allegedly attacked the team while on a sensitization tour of markets in the Aguda area of state.
A man seen in a viral video obtained byNews Expresswas injured on his head and shoulder. He was being attended to while Princess Oyefusi was narrating their ordeal in the hands of the attackers.
She said they were on sensitization tour of the market when they were attacked and one of them was stabbed with either knife or bottle.
Her words: “We had to take cover. Everywhere was in disarray. We had to take cover in a bid to hide from them.”
Expressing her anger at the style of politics being played by the APC in Lagos, the LP deputy governorship candidate said: “Can’t we be allowed to go on sensitization? We don’t know how long this can continue in this country. On the 25th February, election will take place. Let God come and take control.
“By the grace of God, everybody is Obidient, but the next thing we heard was bottle being thrown up and down. That we don’t have right to enter Aguda market, that it belongs to APC. Even the Iyaloja said we should not enter, that it belongs to them. God will take control.”
