Gunmen
Suspected robbers on Sunday shot a security man at the Lekki branch of Chicken Republic.
The incident, it was learnt, occurred around 3 pm while the outlet was tending to its customers.
The sudden attack was said to have caused panic as people scampered to safety at the sound of gunshots.
An unconfirmed report claimed that the gunmen carted away valuables but Chicken Republic in a post on their social media handles said it was an attempted robbery.
The outlet also confirmed that a member of its staff was shot by the gunmen and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Contacted, Lagos spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the injured security man was responding to treatment.
He said Investigations had commenced into the incident, adding that the outlet was collaborating with police investigators.
Hundeyin said the criminals did not succeed in their attempt to rob the outlet. (The Nation)
