•Laments abandonment by affected bank

Mrs Cordelia Igweh, wife of Mr Vincent Igweh, the man who slumped and gave up the ghost inside First Bank, Agbor branch in Delta State, has lamented how her husband was abandoned to die and how she has not been visited by any staff of the bank.

Mrs Igweh made the lamentation to newsmen in Boji-Boji Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

According to the grief-stricken woman, who is a head teacher at Igumbor Otiku Secondary School, Agbor, neither the manager nor any top officials of the bank has visited since her husband slumped and died in their bank hall.

While reacting to the posts making the rounds online, that her husband was allegedly rushed to the hospital when he slumped, she disclosed that he fell while in the queue for several hours and died after struggling without help from people around the bank at that moment.

She noted that her late husband was moved from the premises to St. John’s Catholic Mortuary by the bank officials.

“I was told by an eyewitness that my husband gradually fell down and spent more than three hours on the floor, struggling to get up and nobody could help until he gave up breathing before the arrival of the bank staff who helped in carrying his corpse to the mortuary,” she stated.

Speaking further, she disclosed that her pain was that since that very day the bank staff helped to carry her husband’s lifeless body to the mortuary, none of the bankers had called her phone number or visited her and her children.

“Me and my husband, who is a native of Owa-Nta community in Ika North-East Local Government Area, are blessed with four children, two males and two females, my late husband was the one training three out of the four grown-up children in the universities,” she stated.
