The governorship candidate of NNPP in Delta State, Engr Dr Goodnews Agbi
The governorship candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Delta State, Engr Dr. Goodnews Agbi, has debunked insinuations in some quarters that he had withdrawn from the governorship race.
Agbi, however, accused some persons in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for allegedly being behind the rumour.
He disclosed this while inaugurating the new executive of Oyede Ward 12, on Friday, February 3, 2023. He charged party faithful not to be swayed by the falsehood.
He claimed that the rumour was coming from the camp of APC governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege whom he alleged orchestrated the plot by some elements in his ward to forge signatures in order to indicate that he had withdrawn from the 2023 governorship race.
“You all should vote for me. I am the INEC-recognized governorship candidate of NNPP. I'm in the ballot box for March 11 2023 election. I am not stepping down. So all the Omo-Agege plots and propaganda will not dampen my spirit
“The erstwhile chairman is an agent of APC in the Ward, who in connivance with the State NNPP secretary, who is a cousin of Omo-Agege and from the unit/ward with him in Orogun, cooked up forged signatures of non-existing people in my Oyede ward 12, with fake suspension letter to tarnish my image,” the NNPP guber candidate alleges.
Agbi further lamented that the APC government has squeezed the life out of ordinary Nigerians and should be voted out in the general election.
He contended that though the CBN monetary policy is good, the implementation is faulty, adding that corrupt politicians who were hoping to use “Tinubu’s billions to prosecute the election will be highly disappointed”.
He said that he would not be deterred by the rumour of stepping down being orchestrated by the Omo-Agege’s camp, saying: “I’m not deterred and that will not stop me from exposing his corrupt deeds”.
