Abia PDP guber candidate Okey Ahaiwe

Immediate past Chief of staff to Governor Okezie lkpeazu of Abia State, Mr Okechukwu Ahaiwe, on Saturday won the special primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State.
The primaries were organised due to the death of its PDP gubernatorial candidate, the late Professor Uche Eleazar Ikonne, on January 26, 2023 after a brief illness.
Ahaiwe contested against Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Okochukwu, who scored 12 votes, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe 12 votes, Sampson Uka Orji 11 votes and Okey Ahaiwe 469 votes.
The results which were called out by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State announced 12 invalid votes.
