Delta PDP Governorship Candidate Sheriff Oborevwori
Justice F. A. Olubanjo of the Federal High Court, Asaba, has adjourned till February 22, a case of alleged certificate forgery and age falsification against Delta House of Assembly Speaker and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Oborevwori, was arraigned yesterday at the Federal High Court, Asaba, over alleged certificate forgery and age falsification in a suit filed by a former governorship aspirant, Chief Novwie Ikie.
Oborevwori, who stood in the witness box for cross examination, testified that he was the original owner of the WAEC certificate alleged to have been forged.
Oborevwori told the court that he was born in 1963 as against the 1979.
He testified that in an effort to correct the erroneous date of birth in his WAEC certificate, he swore to an affidavit and deed poll to correct the date.
Justice Olubanjo adjourned the matter after defence lawyers closed their case for adoption of written addresses. (The Nation)
