The Department of History, Bayero University, Kano (BUK), in collaboration with the Department of History, Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, formerly Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, will honour the former Vice Chancellor of KSU with a one-day symposium.

The one-day event will hold simultaneously at Musa Abdullahi Auditorium New Campus Gwarzo Road, Bayero University, Kano on February 16, 2023.

The theme of the event titled “Contextualizing the Economic History of Northern Nigeria,” will have as its Guest Speaker, Professor Sati Fwatsak of the Department of History, University of Jos.

The Chairperson of the occasion will be Professor Yakubu Ochefu, Secretary- General, Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Abuja.

The Chief Host will be the Vice Chancellor, BUK, ProfessorSagir A. Abbas, while the hosts are Dr Lawal Abdullahi, Head of Department (HoD), Department of History of BUK and Prof Patrick I. Ukase, HOD , Department of History, PAAU, Anyigba.

The five panelists include Professor Sylvester I. Ugbegili of Department of History, Benue State University, Makurdi; Dr Nseobong Esong Nkanga, Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil; Dr Lawal Mohammed, Department of History, PAAU; Dr Samaila Suleiman, Department of History, BUK and Dr Kabir Haruna Isah, Department of History BUK.
