Defence Spokesman, Maj-Gen Musa Danmadami

Defence Spokesman, Major General Musa Danmadami, given an assurance on Thursday that the forthcoming general elections will hold across the country including the South East zone of the country. According to him, Nigerian military would not allow those planning to ferment trouble in any part of the country to go scot free.
He was answering questions on whether the military high authorities are planning any new operations in the South East against the backdrop of the degenerating insecurity and statements from some quarters that the elections would not hold.
Danmadami, Director, Defence Media Operations, said, “new operation will be rejuvenated”, adding that military operations are ongoing in the South East.
He assured that, “election is going to happen in the South East. He further said there is no cause for alarm, stressing that there is no tension. He said the operation is not only kinetic but is also non-kinetic.
The director, Defence Media Operations, who said this during the bi-weekly media briefing held in Abuja, on troops’ activities and operational successes being recorded in the various operational theaters within the six geo-political zones, also said, “no Nigerian territory is being held by terrorists”.
Responding to another question on reports that terrorists are occupying some swatch of territories, he said, “the answer is definite no.”
The briefing focuses on troops’ activities in the past two weeks. The troops’ operations were both kinetic and non-kinetic according to the DMO director.
