PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar
By CHARLES IWUOHA
The Presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has restated his target to devolutionizepowers to states and local councils if given the mandate on February 25,2023.
He assured the people of South-East that under him as President, the issue of insecurity and margilisation would be a thing of the past.
The former vice President stated this on Thursday, at the PDP presidential campaign rally held at PA Ngele Oruta Township stadium, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.
According to him, since the formation of the party and return to democracy, Ebonyi state had remained in PDP, urging the people of the state to vote him and other candidates at all levels.
According to Atiku, youths and women empowerment would form one of his administration's principles if he assumes office. He said that the eight years regime of the All progressives Congress (APC) has collapsed the country.
Addressing party supporters, National Chairman of PDP, Senator Iyiocha Ayu, stated that the developmental strides recorded in Ebonyi State since 1999 was under the party during the time of Dr. Sam Egwu, Martin Elechi, even though Governor David Umahi defected to the All progressives Congress (APC).
Ayu, who stated that Ebonyi State was blessed with good governors under the party, urged the people to return back to the fold.
The Director-general of Atiku/Okowa Presidential campaign council and governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, said the party's candidate would transform the country and fixed the economy.
