The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Special Delegates Conference session sitting in Kano dumped National Orientation Agency (NOA) out of its constitution.
The special delegate session was presided over by Chief Chris Isiguzo, MFR, National President of the union. He took the decision on Thursday during the NUJ constitution review session.
The delegates also gave the nod that NOA staff would no longer be accorded NUJ membership.
The conference resolved too that NOA elected officials would be allowed to serve out their term in office.
The conference passed another new law that members of staff of Ministry of Information adjudged as non-practising journalists are henceforth barred from been accorded NUJ membership.
It was also concurred that Local Government Public Relations Officers (PRO) should no longer be handed NUJ membership status.
