Former deputy governor of Jigawa State, Alh. Ahmad Mahmoud Gumel, has moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying: "I have no regrets dumping APC to PDP."

A written letter of his exit to his former APC Galangamawa Ward in Gumel local government area of Jigawa state read thus: “with all sense of respect and regards as a Chairman, your person and your party, I wish to notify you of my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gumel stated that his resolve to dump the APC was informed by intra party conflict, disunity and lack of commitment and confidence on the part of stalwarts towards the success of the party in the fourth coming general elections.

“By this decision, I will retire to my farming business and equally to continue with my philanthropist gesture to the people of Jigawa state.”

Ahmed Gumel assured APC of his continued consultation with the party stakeholders for any future plans and wished all the party members well in their present and future engagements.

Gumel was one time commissioner of finance during the administration of former Governor, Saminu Turaki He equally served as two term Deputy Governor to former Governor Sule Lamido under PDP.

Ahmed Mahmoud, a grassroot politicians and political mobilizer cum game changer led hundreds of thousands of PDP followers in 2015 back to APC where he played a vital role in bringing the present APC Badaru-led government on board.
