Five-year-old Akachukwu Nwanye
The family of five-year-old Akachukwu Nwanye, who is suffering from Tetralogy of Fallout (TOF), a heart-related condition which happens when a baby’s heart does not form properly in the mother’s womb, is soliciting for N5 million for surgery
Master Akachukwu, who will be going to India for surgery, is currently undergoing treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
Little Akachukwu has not been able to attend school due to his condition.
According to the mother, Nwanye Emilia, the surgery, which is estimated at N5 million, is far beyond the family’s reach.
She said: “The heart condition was first discovered at X-Serve Children Heart Clinic, after which he was transferred to LUTH for further treatment, where he is still being managed today.
“We have been using medication to sustain him until the money for the surgery is complete. My son needs to be flown to India for a surgical procedure that will cost about N5 million. Please help save my child. My husband, who is a commercial bus driver, has spent all his life savings on blood transfusion, which is being done weekly.
