A group known as Equity Movement has reeled out reasons why Nigerians should work towards voting for all candidates contesting under the umbrella of Labour Party, (LP) during the forthcoming general elections scheduled for February and March this year.

The group explained that it was not enough to vote for only the Presidential Candidate of the party, Peter Obi, without establishing a support system for him at the upper and lower legislative chambers.

The group, in a statement signed by the trio of Hon O.C Gaius Ezeh, National Chairman, Chief Oluwatuase Joseph Kolawole, Coordinator, Western Region and Hon. Dan Ejianya, Coordinator, Eastern Region, urged Nigerians to avoid wasting attention on predictions that would obviously amount to nothing, but rather concentrate more on how to install Obidient Government.

Throwing light on how that could be achieved, the group said: "We can only sincerely do this by courageously collapsing all our individual, sectional, and other parochial interests into the one universal interest which is OBIDIENT that will stand firm and deliver.

"Voting OBIDIENT only for Presidency cannot give us the government that would stand firm and deliver. It has to be Obidient Total. Obidient has to be in majority in both Senate and House of Reps to deliver. Very important!

"Therefore instead of wasting attention on predictions that shall obviously amount to nothing, the OBIDIENTS, that is, Nigerians should concentrate more on how to install OBIDIENT Government, with sufficient support to deliver.

"We can only sincerely do this by courageously collapsing all our individual, sectional, and other parochial interests into the one universal interest which is OBIDIENT that will stand firm and deliver.

"February 2023 Cannot Be Predicted, using the Old or Usual Parameters.

Whether one chooses to call it an Act of God, Law of nature or chance happening, it is a matter of choice."

Equity Movement stressed that due to the actions and inactions of bad leadership, Nigerians have been pushed to the wall and a silent but strong and focused revolution has been ignited and has been on, for some years now and was still ongoing.

According to the group, there are obvious signs that the country, Nigeria, was presently undergoing a transformation.

It added: "Things are no more as usual in Nigeria in the recent times. Like insects and reptiles, Nigeria is moulting! It is gradually shedding off its old skin and replacing same with a new one.

What has been happening in Nigeria in the recent time is far from being the usual.

"In a democracy, it is said that power belongs to the people but in Nigeria, the norm has been that power belongs to the lords. These lords are found in every geo-political zone of Nigeria, although those from the Northern zone could be described as the “Lords of the Lords.

"In reality, Nigeria belongs to these Lords, not to the generality.

As these people usually fought as they share and rotate power among themselves they use money, religious and tribal sentiments to blindfold Nigerians, making them, Nigerians of all zones, tribes and religion, believe it is their various group interest that is being fought for. But the fact is that these people do not even believe in Nigeria at all and do not have it as their home.

"To them, they only have Nigeria as a place from where they loot what they use to build their homes abroad – Europe, America, Canada etc.

"All through in the previous elections, the result could be rightly predicted based on the alignment and realignments of these ‘real’ owners of Nigeria and the amount of money various parties and political groups were prepared to part with.

"It is based on the above that few skeptics still doubt the possibility of the Labour Party being declared winner inspite of their numerical strength, convictions and commitments of the OBIDIENTS and the momentum of the force that drives it on."

Continuing, the group noted that the beneficiaries of the old system, who could not reconcile themselves with what they are seeing about the acceptability and followership of the OBIDENT by the Nigerians of all tribes, religion and classes, would rather be more comfortable wishing away totally, the phenomenon that is Obidient.

This, according to the group, explains the reason why the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, would still want to believe that the Igbo man can only become the President of Nigeria if it is negotiated with the “North.”

"By the “North” he does not really mean the people of Northern Nigeria rather these defacto owners of Nigeria of Northern Extraction.

"And perhaps by the time this negotiation with the “North” matures, Prof C.C Soludo must have completed his eight-year tenure as the governor and would be ready for a higher office. Is this not a more comfortable arrangement to believe in?

"The prediction of H.E Prof. C.C Soludo, of course was not based on the evidence of the moment rather on his old knowledge of Nigeria's Politics, that is; the balancing of power among the “Lords” that deceive and manipulate Nigerians for their personal gains!

"He either failed to see or refused to see the clear evidence of 'Coming up of Age' of Nigerians: East, West, North and South, all poised to take back their Nigeria.

"One might think that since in Nigeria, it has overtime become normal that power belongs to the Lords and not to the people, that it therefore must continue to be so, losing sight of the ancient maxim that says 'Nothing On Earth Is Permanent Except Change.' Losing sight of the immortal lines of the Great Abraham Lincoln:-

'You can fool all the people some of the time, Some of the people all the time,

But cannot fool all the people all the time,' and this is the case of Nigeria at the moment! Nigerians have resolved not to be fooled forever – Simple!

"Another evidence that Prof. C.C Soludo is still thinking of the yesterday Nigeria is that he referred to Peter Obi as Igbo Presidential Candidate which is not true today" Equity group stated.

It further explained that the project OBIDIENT belongs to Nigerians East, West, North and South, cutting across the six Geo-political zones!

While describing it as a movement, it said that the people of Nigeria wish to use the movement to take back Nigeria from the Hijackers, looters whose homes are not in Nigeria, noting that It was not even among the Igbo nation that OBIDIENT was most popular.

Citing some indications and obvious signs/pointers to the fact that Nigerians were completely fed up with the old system and only a just system and people oriented leadership can hold Nigeria together after February 2023, it queried,

"The usual brutal force of the old Nigeria has lost its potency and cannot hold Nigeria together beyond 2023 but Nigerians still need and want their Nigeria intact! That is why the old system of the Lords cannot live beyond February, 2023. Going by the old system where power belonged; not to the people but to the “Lords.”

"Could anyone have imagined that the people of Nigeria could one day rise up and demand that a part of the country’s security system be dissolved, stood firm and it happened! Where is SARS today? May the souls of the youths that lost their lives in the struggle rest in peace.

"Has brutal force succeeded in calming down the cries of separate existence here and there in Nigeria today? The Answer is NO.

"Who could have imagined that any group in Nigeria could rise up and dare reduce the official working days in the week from five to four and the people chose to obey them inspite of the brutal force by both the States and Federal Government?

"Who is that Presidential Candidate of the old Nigeria that enjoyed the level of acceptance, commitment and solidarity the OBIDIENT movement is currently enjoying among Nigerians of all tribes, Religion and Geo-Political Zones?

"The few skeptics and conservatives or lovers of the old Nigeria system should also learn that there is something beyond the ordinary about Peter Gregory Obi in Nigeria politics."

It insisted that Peter Obi was a divine agent for positive and progressive change in Nigeria politics and cannot be predicted, using old parameters, saying that those who tried to predict him in 2003 using the old and known parameters of Nigeria’s evil politics and system all failed woefully.

The group added: "The norm then was that once rigged out, the mandate was forever gone. It was also the norm that all governorship and state House Assembly elections were held the same day in all over the thirty-six states of Nigeria."

It recalled that when Peter Obi contested Governorship election in Nigeria, he became the first Governor to recover his stolen mandate via the courts after being rigged out, noting that the Tenure –Interpretation by the Supreme Court changed the political calendar for Governorship elections in Nigeria.

"Today, in the same vein, all predictions based on the old or usual parameters have also failed."

While advising the Obidients all over Nigeria, Equity Group said: "Be focused and fully focused and avoid being distracted by the predictions by beneficiaries of the old Nigeria system, for those predictions are all based on the obsolete parameters of yesteryears and are bound to fail!

“There is no sign that the old Nigeria will survive beyond February 2023.

“Only a new Nigeria is capable of holding Nigeria together as a country after February 2023 and no other party or group is prepared for the 'New Nigerians concept' except the OBIDIENT MOVEMENT.”
