The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described the recent utterances by retired Major General Danbazau as an indication that Fulani cabals are behind all the insecurity in the East with aim to rig the 2023 election and blame it on IPOB.

The retired Army General was quoted as saying that IPOB is a threat to 2023 election in the East.

IPOB in a statement on Monday by its media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said that the cabals are sponsoring Fulani terrorists influx into Igbo land that are killing and sacking communities so that there will be no voting due to desertion of communities in Igbo land.

The statement partly reads: “These cabals are also behind infiltrators who are shouting, “No Election’ in Biafra land. It's a premeditated plan to blame IPOB for voter apathy in Igbo land.

“They are also responsible for staging and parading criminals who claim to be working for IPOB. It is all part of the planned agenda to rig elections while blaming IPOB.

“The corrupt Fulani Cabals with South Eastern polititcians are working together to make sure that Ala Igbo is not peaceful before 2023 election so that they can rig in the APC Fulani pseudopresident or another Fulani man to come and complete their Fulanization agenda of Nigeria.

“With their well-planned media attacks and blackmail against IPOB, it is obvious that they see IPOB as the only obstacle to their evil agenda for all the indigenous nations trapped in the contraption called Nigeria.

“Even though we have consistently said that IPOB is not interested in Nigeria politics, the Fulani handlers of international terrorism and their leaders daily link IPOB into their plot to select Nigeria’s leaders and in the shambolic 2023 selection that they call election.They are just preparing ignorant people's mind to blame IPOB for their failure in an already rigged election.”

IPOB further accused Major General Danbazu and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, of being the major financiers for the recruitment of Fulani terrorists and jihadists from Sahel countries into Nigeria.

It added: “We fully understand that Danbazu and his fellow Agendists are the ones deploying terrorists and jihadists from Sahel into Biafra regions for attacks before and during 2023 elections to blame it on peaceful and unarmed movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. They have also hired local criminals and cultist in Igbo land to help them disrupt elections while shouting ‘Biafra’.

“These are all well planned agendas that IPOB intel has uncovered. IPOB is always one thousand steps ahead of our enemies.

“We know that the flippant and unguarded statements from terrorists enabler Danbazau were to discredit us as they continue coordinated and sustained media attacks against IPOB. But they can’t discourage us nor make us change our agenda of restoring Biafra freedom.

“In a sane society where terrorists are considered as threats to national security, people like Danbazu will be behind bars. Unfortunately, this is Nigeria, where many of the state executives are terrorists commanders.Even arrested terrorists are released and given VIP treatments while unarmed freedom fighters are killed or detained indefinitely in dungeons that Nigeria calls detention facilities.”

The group insisted that it has no plans to tell people to boycott elections, saying that IPOB have chosen to remain neutral in the forthcoming 2023 election.

“Anyone obstructing the election process is definitely working with the Fulani agendist and not IPOB.

“Our focus now is to dislodge the Fulani imported terrorists and locally recruited criminals who are demonizing IPOB before the International Community. Just watch as events unfold.

“IPOB has nothing to do with Nigeria fraudulent election.We are focused on the release of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and a Biafra Referendum date.

“Biafra agitation championed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB worldwide is recognized and considered peaceful, contrary to the blackmail by the Fulani government in Nigeria. We shall remain peaceful but resolute freedom fighters until Biafra freedom is achieved,” it added.
