The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to call on the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma to order over plot against its Spokesman, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere.

The CUPP has also petitioned foreign missions seeking ban on the governor, over this development.

The CUPP, in a statement by its Chairman of Steering Committee and Labour Party candidate for Kogi state, High Chief Peter Ameh, raised alarm over alleged plot to frame and jail Ugochinyere on trumped up allegations.

The CUPP disclosed that they are in possession of an audio recording of how Ugochinyere is being threatened by the Imo state government house to frame him over trumped up allegations.

The anger by the Imo state government house, according to CUPP, is how the opposition Coalition exposed those plotting to rig and undermine 2023 general election in Imo and 14 other states.

The CUPP lamented that the miscreants parading as government officials might be behind the ongoing insecurity in Imo State.

The statement reads: “Since we uncovered plot by some politicians to stop INEC use of Bimodal Voter Accreditation system and tampering of voter register, Imo government has been threatening to harm our spokesman Ugochinyere and PDP Ideato North South house of reps candidate.

“Their plot will be their greatest undoing as they have met a man that will never stop until they are exposed.

“In the audio recording, we can hear the governor’s aide proudly saying he will arrest Ugochinyere if he enters Imo.

“As our spokesman enter Imo today, they should stay clear off his path. Anything done otherwise won’t be tolerated by the opposition,” it added. (Courtesy, excluding headline, Daily Independent)
