Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Sunday assured the people of Kano State of free and fair elections during the 2023 general election.
The Governor stated this while addressing the All Progressive Congress (APC) supporters who organized a one million-man match in support of the Presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
According to the Governor, the APC and other parties in the state are on board with the idea of free and fair campaigns and elections.
Speaking with Channels Television at the event, the governor who is visibly happy with the attendance, said the march has surpassed one million and heading to five million.
“Looking at my face you will know I am happy, my Deputy who is the gubernatorial candidate is happy, even the people of Kano are happy.
“If you see the mammoth crowd for over one hour now we have been standing here, we have been taking salute, we have been directing them to the main venue of the event for over one hour now, they are still passing, it’s more than one million march, we are heading to five million march,” Ganduje said.
Youth, women, and persons with disability from the 44 local government areas of the state gathered in the state metropolis to support the APC presidential candidate.
The one million-man match began from the Emir’s palace and the Kano State governor received thousands of supporters at the Government House Round About. The match continued from there and ended at the race-course in Nasarawa Local Government. (Channels TV)
