Amnesty Programme Interim Administrator Dikio
By TINA TIMOTHY
The Concerned Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Students Worldwide (CPSW) has dismissed claims by ‘a mischievous publication’ and James Warigo, an acclaimed Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Alumni (PASA), who, according to CPSW, was not known by the Students’ Community and that his name was not registered as a graduate of PAP.
In a public statement on Thursday, June 30, 2022, signed by its Acting Secretary,
Comrade Prince Igho, CPSW called on students of the PAP, as well as the general public to disregard the publication and stated emphatically that only a positive response to their earlier demands would bring about cancellation of their planned protest.
The public announcement reads: “The attention of the ‘Concerned Pap Students Worldwide’ CPSW has been drawn to a mischievous publication by a self-claimed Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Alumni (PASA) in the person of ‘James Warigo’.
“The CPSW is in shock as to how or when an unknown body “PASA” was formed and has been under the radar, posing as the part of the Presidential Amnesty Program.
“This body spearheaded by Warigo further claimed that Hon. Lucky; the current President of the National Presidential Amnesty Students Worldwide (NAPASW), is no longer welcome as the President of our wonderful organization because he is no longer a student.
“We are calling on all students of our dearly beloved programme and the general public to kindly disregard the publication and any other publication not confirmed by the official bodies as false.
“The conveyor ‘Warigo’ is not known by the students’ community and his name is not registered as a graduate of the Presidential Amnesty Program.”
Igho further stated that Hon. Lucky remains the president of the NAPASW since no election has been held and no new executives has been nominated or elected.
“On behalf of all NAPASW, no election has been held and no new NAPASW executive has been nominated nor elected, so, therefore, Hon. Lucky remains the President and still holds the mantle to pilot the affairs of NAPASW as a whole.
“On the said issues surrounding the students’ community, NAPASW clearly states that the Office of the President in the person of Hon. Lucky and the student body say that no blackmail, paid or sponsored publication will make the students' community desist from their planned protest, as all and sundry has been put in place to kick off the said protest; only a positive response to our demands would bring about cancellation of plans.”
