Gov Uzodimma
Two serving commissioners in the government of Governor Hope Uzodimma on Monday indicated their intentions to resign from the Imo State Executive Council. Facts on their intentions emerged justless thaneighthours of the resignation of Uzodinma's S.A. on Political Matters, and close associate of more than 20 years,Chief Bathos Nwadike.
The commissioners and SA, News Express was authoritatively informed, have already written the governor notifyinghim oftheir resignation too. News Express source stated that aides’letters of resignation were sent to the Office of Principal Secretary to the governor for onward transmission of notice to exit the government, to the governor. However, their letters did not state reasons for their resignation. It was gathered thatunderlining their decisions is nothing other than over all interest of Imo state.“Their separate decisions to resign were forthe interest of Imo state and her citizens, and nothing more”, said our source.
The commissioners are: Lady Dr Love Ineh, Housing, Hon. Simon Ebegbulem, Commerce and Industry, and Chief Dr Okey Anukwuem, Special Duties.
Our source hinted on resignation of more officials of the government, saying that the development signals looming implosion in the state’s Executive Council.
News Express recalls that only yesterday, Monday, June27, Nwadike, resigned as SA Political Matters, citing in his letter of resignation, the governor’sfailure to run an inclusive government, undemocratic leadership style, denied access to Government House,non-payment of his salaries, allowances and demandsa refund of over N77 million, among other reasons for quitting the government.
