Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has described the state of insecurity in Anambra, South East and Nigeria as regrettable.

He stressed that the spirit of Anambra is different from bloodshed and wanton violence, even as he canvassed for an end to all forms of violent agitations saying that the dialogue is ongoing.

Soludo made the statement at a one day peace building and security dialogue held at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka.

The Governor said that time had come to differently and seriously engage with the good, the bad and the ugly without discrimination, in other to entrench peace and security in the land.

While supporting the position of the joint body and hopefully with southeast Governors, as well as every Nigerian for Nnamdi Kanu to receive expeditious justice, saying that justice delayed is justice denied, he dismissed Monday sit at home as a way to protest.

Soludo warned that anybody enforcing the continuous sit at home will henceforth be regarded as a criminal.

He added: “Anambra State Government has initiated moves for a more peaceful and prosperous homeland in the state and the South East region.”

The Chairman of Anambra state and South East Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, while hinting that the discussion started long ago, recalled that IPOB had since canceled the sit at home regretted that that the order had unfortunately become counter-productive.

Stakeholders who attended the meeting include Security Chiefs, Religious Leaders, senators, Traditional rulers, among others.
