Olubadan-elect, Oba Olalekan Balogun

The Grand Council of Yoruba Youths on Friday paid homage to the Olubadan-elect, Oba Olalekan Balogun, wishing him a peaceful reign.
The youth group, led by its President-General, Mr Bamiji Awa, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos, indicating that they were at the Olubadan palace in Ibadan to pay him homage.
Awa prayed for the success of the coronation ceremony of the Oba-elect, slated for March 11, and wished him long life and prosperity.
He pledged the youths’ unflinching support and loyalty to the royal father.
According to him, the youth leaders used the occasion to hand over a congratulatory letter and a copy of the maiden edition of their Insight Magazine, inaugurated in December 2002 to the Oba-elect.
Awa said that the magazine is part of the remembrance of late Nigerian Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige (SAN).
He also used the occasion to enumerate the group’s achievements which were recorded under his able leadership.
Awa applauded the Olubadan-elect for his deep love for culture and tradition.
In his response, the Oba-elect promised to continue to keep his promises to youths for the growth and development of his kingdom and that of Ibadanland at large.
Balogun, thereafter, prayed for the continued success of the youth group. (NAN)
