The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) saidit hascreated three service centres for COVID-19 vaccination in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a proactive measure against the negative effects of the ongoing council workers’ strike.
NPHCDA noted, “Due to the ongoing strike by the 6 Area Councils, only FCT general /district hospitals are administering this vaccines”.
In what it calls Public service information,NPHCDA on Sundaysaid thatthe service centreswere openedfor covid-19 vaccination in FCT in order to prevent the ongoing council strike from frustrating the programme.
The service centers are located at 9 Orlu Street Garki Area 3, FCT Primary Health Care Board and PHC clinic (family health clinic) Area 2 Garki. Anotherof suchvaccination site is at NPHCDA annex office at 2 Uke street, Area 11 Garki.
The Agency also said, “The Johnson and Johnson's Janssen Covid-19 vaccine is now in the FCT with over 100000 doses. This is a single dose vaccine with a booster at 2 months (8weeks) after the single first dose”.
