The meeting between the out-going Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, his wife, Ebelechukwu, and President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock Villa has set tongues wagging, over the possible reason for the meeting.

Obiano who has barely two weeks to wind up his leadership of Anambra State, as would be handing over to Prof Charles Soludo on March 17, 2022, had previously announced that he would be going back to the US to rest, after his tenure as governor.

The Governor had, before his political adventure, lived in the US, after a glowing career with Texaco as a Chartered accountant.

Last year, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had placed Obiano on its watchlist, alleging that he had questions to answer, and may possibly try to leave the country.

At the time of that declaration, Obiano was overseas, and there were insinuations that he may never return home. But he later returned to the country and called the bluff of those who were making insinuations about his attempt to escape.

Meanwhile, Obiano has told journalists that he had no question to answer, and more so, no reason to want to flee the country.

He reminded people that nursed the idea to intimidate him that he was still the governor, and still had his immunity intact.
