Administrators of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State are gearing up to fix dilapidated infrastructure, particularly four major bridges linking several parts of the Council.

Already, the Council boss, Mr David Olusegun Odunmbaku, has inspected some of the bridges, including Yakoyo and Mobil local bridges, as well as the Adeshina bridge which needs to be upgraded and Fadunsi Bridge which needs to be rebuilt.

According to the Council boss, upgrading Adeshina bridge would pave way for the council to repair Adeniyi Oke and Adeshina Streets, among others; while rehabilitating the Fadunsi bridge would provide the leverage for linking Housing Estates in that axis.

Odunmbaku, in company of Ward A Councillor, Hon. Lekan Peters, his Chief of Staff, Mr Bode Olaniyan, and the Chairman Ojodu LCDA National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Engr. Rufai Abolore, embarked on inspection tour of the facilities last Thursday.

He noted that the projects would be executed through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programme, adding that the bridges would also be rebuilt in collaboration with the Community Development Association (CDAs), Community Development Committee (CDCs), landlords association, business owners, traders and all stakeholders along the affected routes.

When completed, Odunmbaku stressed, the projects would facilitate good road network, movement of goods and services, improve the local economy; while properties would increase in value, even as overall quality of life of residents of Ojodu and its environs would be better with enhanced security.

He assured that adequate security would be provided while the execution of the projects last.
