Super Falcons captain Asishat Oshoala has posted a worrisome depressive tweet, which she deleted moments later.

“Life is just unfair…. tired of trying,” the Barcelona striker tweeted on Thursday.

She later deleted it a few minutes later but not before people noticed.

Oshoala, who lost her mother last year and recovered from a serious injury, has been in spectacular form in the current season. She is the highest goal scorer in the La Liga female league, scoring six goals in the last four games.¨Those who saw the now-deleted tweet offered their support and sympathised with the footballer.

I n 2015, she had some serious problems with mental health, suffering from depression and sharing suicidal thoughts.

“I’m tired of life, I want to leave already,” she wrote in one of her posts back then.

The psychologist was with her 24/7 and even other officials, including our leader of the delegation, spent time with Oshoala, taking to her not to allow the weight of the BBC Award [Footballer of the Year] depress her. But she kept saying that the focus on her was becoming too much.

“I am sure she is yet to overcome the depression because Oshoala didn’t really perform to expectation in this World Cup. This is not the Oshoala we used to know,” Nigeria’s official representative noted then. (Text, excluding headline, courtesy of The Nation)
