The Benin City Youth Football Club Owners Association has praised the nomination by the Edo state government of former Edo Football Association Chairman, Frank Ilaboya, into the board of the Edo State Sports Commission.
In a message signed by the Chairman of the Association, Douglas Idahosa, the association stressed that the nomination of Ilaboya is an attestation of his professionalism and impartiality as a sports administrator.
The message, addressed to Ilaboya, partly reads: “No doubt, your time as a board member of the Edo State Sports Commission will take Edo State sports to greater heights.”
The Benin City Youth Club Owners Association is a body that organizes the Benin City Youth League, a competition that sees top grassroots clubs in Benin City engage each other in a league format that spans months, ensuring the clubs are occupied with high quality football matches.
Frank Ilaboya is a veteran sports journalist and a former local government chairman in Edo state.
